Welcome to our story! We’re Alex and Brandon Ward, a husband-and-wife team rooted deeply in the heart of North Georgia. Both of us are proud graduates of White County High School—Brandon graduated two years ahead of me. I’ll never forget the day he looked at me and declared he was going to marry me someday. Sounds romantic, right? Well, I didn’t think so at the time! In fact, we didn’t speak for two years after that. Little did I know, he was right. We got married shortly after graduating, and I can confidently say I haven’t looked back since. If Brandon has, I hope he’s smart enough to lie about it—haha!
From the beginning, community involvement has been a cornerstone of our lives. In high school, I started a Christian nonprofit with the goal of uniting youth groups from all denominations. This project became one of the most rewarding endeavors of our lives, and I’m so grateful Brandon and I got to work on it together. Fun fact: Brandon proposed to me on stage at one of our events in front of more than 500 students. Talk about making a statement!
After high school, we quickly learned that passion alone doesn’t pay the bills. So, we headed to college: I pursued the medical field, and Brandon focused on management and fabrication. But as the world turned, so did our path. In 2014, we started searching for our first home. Looking back now, we hit the jackpot with those 2014 home prices. At just 19 and 21 years old, we bought our first foreclosure. That one decision planted the seed for what would become our future.
You’d think we’d settle into that first home and grow roots, right? Not quite. We caught the renovation bug. Over the next 10 years, we moved nine times and flipped about 30 homes, thanks to the guidance of some incredible mentors. From that very first house, we realized we could turn our passion into a livelihood—and we did just that.
At 19, I jumped into real estate full-time as an assistant. That role grew into helping start a brokerage, and eventually, Brandon and I founded our own: Ward Properties. It didn’t take long for us to define who we are and what we stand for—our morals, goals, and unwavering drive.
Now, here we are at 30 and almost 31, living the dream we’ve worked so hard for. What started as a chaotic mix of full-time college, a night-shift job, running a ministry, and renovating homes has transformed into a life where all those elements have seamlessly combined. Today, our business is not only our livelihood but also our ministry. We still renovate homes, but most importantly, we get to spend as much time as possible with our two boys.
Our journey has been anything but ordinary, and we wouldn’t change a thing. From high school to home-flipping, from building a ministry to launching Ward Properties, our story is woven with faith, family, and determination. Today, we’re grateful to combine our passions—real estate, community, and ministry—into a life we truly love. Thanks for joining us on this adventure.
